Others that would be very good in this regard would be the Riftwar saga series by Raymond Feist (Previously optioned, then dropped), the "Frankenstein/Prodigal son" series by Koontz, Wheel of time (In production, so, happening already, yay.), Ann Rice's Taltos series, C.J, Cherryh's Fortress series (This would be fantastic and if you've never read these books I highly recommend them) and L.E.
